UK: Europe is going to adopt sanctions against Iran oil

British Foreign Secretary said Sunday that European Nations will increase pressure on Iran over its nuclear program, but insisted the West is not pressing for military action.

William Hague told Sky television News that he believed the EU agreed new given strict sanctions against Tehran oil sector later this month, and will continue to seek a peaceful method of persuading Iran to the gutter with the pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Iran insists nuclear programme is meant for peaceful, but Western and others have accused it of trying to build a bomb. British Defence Minister Philip Hammond said earlier this month that Tehran was working “flat out” on weapons programs.

“We have never ruled out anything. We do not rule out the option, or support options. We believe all options should be on the , which is part of the pressure on Iran, but definitely not our calling on or advocating military action, “said Hague.

“We advocate meaningful negotiations, if Iran will get into them, and an increase in the pressure of sanctions to try to get some flexibility from Iran,” he said.
